I did it again. It has been a month since my last post and it just took me at least 15 minutes to remember the password for my blog. The last few months have been crazy, nonstop, and I am happy to say that 2010 is officially in the books. And it feels good. It is also nice to stop and take a deep breath. For my friends who think I am a ghost, or perhaps are wondering if I have become a hoarder who had a giant stack of Twinkie boxes collapse and trap me, this post should give you an idea of where I might have been recently, and let you know that I am OK. (But please send more twinkies). My shooting is done for this year and the last two weeks I am going to be catching up on editing, posting, and sharing. Also going to try and maybe get to sleep the same day I woke up, for once. Below is a mixed bag of pictures from some of my sessions I have shot over the last few months. Engagements.. babies… rappers… grapes! I am going to work on getting the full posts up for all these, finished and online before the end of the year. So you’ll be hearing a lot more from me very soon
A big thank you to everyone who brought me on to take their picture and for their patience with me as I worked hard on their photos. It’s been a lot of fun and I have learned so much with all of you. Thanks again, and here’s to a great end of the year! Preview time:
Gracias y Adiós 2010!!
Bonnie and Zach have to be two of the most creative people I know. When I met with them a few weeks before their wedding day, their house had been converted into a workshop of wedding goodness filled with different ongoing projects for their big day. Everything from programs, to decore, reception schematics, to gifts for their guests. They were building a photobooth from scratch and had made the props with baked molding clay. They were even growing the various plants to be used in their center pieces! I was quite impressed. They poured their hearts into this wedding, and it showed. And when rain threatened on their wedding day, October 10th, Zach said with 100% confidence, “It will clear.”. And sure enough, just moments before the ceremony and after 24 hours of nonstop rain, the clouds broke and the sun came pouring through. It was a beautiful ceremony. Zach and Bonnie were truy made for each other and it shows in everything they do. The following reception was topped off with late night karaoke and dancing. I have to thank Zach and Bonnie for going out on a limb and hiring me to capture their wedding day. I realize that they were sincerely taking that risk of hiring the newbie wedding photographer to help me advance in what I love to do, and I am very grateful to them for that. Congratulations Bonnie and Zach and thank you for letting me be a part of it. And a big thanks to my partner in crime and second shooter, my sister Lis. I couldn’t have done it with out you!
